Silver Shield’s ninth release, within the “Conscientia” series, is titled “Quadrivium”.

In order to break free from the Hegelian Dialectic and collectivist control, the individual must break the binary input-output regurgitation of talking points, dead facts, and rules.

The first step, to listen to all and follow none, is begun by applying logic to

the input you are told as well as the output about what you are expected to say. The ‘Trivium” was a classic educational process that concerned itself with doing just that.

The “Trivium” was the practice of learning though questioning. It is vastly different from the indoctrination all living Americans have received. The typical input-output of dead facts regurgitated onto dead tests.

The “Trivium” consisted of a three-step process of Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. Grammar is the observation of information. Logic is the process of relating that information to the individual. Rhetoric is expressing the information convincingly to others.

Once the individual has the tools to observe, apply logic, and is able to express what he has learned to others, his pupils will then be prepared to learn the deeper knowledge enshrined with the ‘Quadrivium”.

The “Quadrivium” consists of the Four Arts of Arithmetic, Geometry, Music, and Astronomy. All these arts essentially use math to express our place in the universe. It unveils the beautiful, chaotic order, and abundance, of the universe.

The 2018 Silver Shield “Quadrivium” visually expresses four of the most outstanding men in their respective fields. Euclid, the Greek mathematician is on the left. Archimedes, who is another Greek, and the father of geometry is on the bottom. Beethoven the German master of music is on the right. And British astronomer, Isaac Newton, is at the top. Newton is perhaps one of the most intelligent men of all time.

One aspect of this design was to relate these four disciplines to the Jungian archetypes of King, Warrior, Magician, and Lover. Mr. Duane felt the mathematician was the blunt edge warrior of a man finding his place in the world. He believes that geometry was a magician energy and practical application of math gifted to the world through creation. Music is without question the Lover energy. And finally, astronomy is King energy, relating man to the universe.
